Think I might have found the perfect size front door speakers for the BG.

Infinity Reference 6532si - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/infinity-reference-6532si-shallow-mount.html

Actually 1mm shallower than the standard BG speakers. So should fit behind the standard door cards with no problems.

Movable tweeters so you can face them upwards towards your ears. And not cheapy cheap.

Now....... Any one want to buy them for me?

They look nice, wouldn't mind a pair of them myself !!

Those infinitys are really very nice - a bit bright sounding, but a nice range

My GT had holes cut in the door cards...which isn't very nice, but it did mean I could fit any old speakers in there

Have you heard a set before then marc? I'd probably just run them direct off my Alpine HU. only 45w RMS.

your alpine should power them up ok, but they'd probably sound better amped up a bit

heard most of what's out there matey...I was an engineer for B&W loudspeakers for 12 years, and I like to stay as up to date as I can, read reviews, listen to as much as I can etc

You know your stuff then matey, Could you recommend an amp for them? Ideally i'd like to mount it under the glove box in the passenger footwell or somewhere towards the front of the car.

I must apologise mate, they will probably not sound bright in the doors - they do on a parcel shelf, because the first order reflection is only slightly behind the sound from the source...down in the doors you won't suffer from that, so they should sound goooood

Not much room for amps under there to be honest...I'd run them off the head unit and see how well they perform before spending out on an amp

will do mate. Cheers for that. I've seen that alpine do a power pack. that upgrades your head unit output to 45W RMS, its about 18RMS currently. Bit pricey though for what it is.
