Hi guys!! Im so excited that i discovered such a nice forum about this nice car! Im in love with my BG and i like when other people are too !! So i have a question. Yesterday i saw on ebay a plasma gauges for my mazda. Before i procced to buy them,i tryed to remove my speedometer. I lowered the steer, removed the plastics above the steer, removed the plastic panel of my cd player and down from the steer, the alarm switch panel ,and the air-condition panels! I managed to pull the device(speedometer) out but i couldnt. Its like it stuck. Basically i think the wires are too short so i didnt pull it with much power to not damage them. Any tips to remove it? Are really the wires too short? Do i have to remove the whole panel? If there exists some pictures or guide over the web i would be thankfull if someones directs the link to me. thanks and sorry for my english(i'm greek)!! |

The speedo drive cable is connected, and needs to be undone at the connector. What you can do is look in the engine bay, and loosen where it is secured, to give you a little slack, so you can pull the speedo out enough to get to the connector

On my BG the Speedo cable goes into the gearbox on the right side of the engine in front of the battery below that weird silver/black box which I don't have on my BG because it's a Carb not injection, hope that helps. |
