little niggly thing is my central locking opens with the key but never closes and idear of how i can sort this out i can hear the relay clicking under the dash but i am not sure if thats the problem or if its to do with the sensors in the doors please help and many thanks
found the problem it was the relay many thanks for all input into sorting this out

If you use the key u will only lock all doors if you're using the drivers door, passenger door dont work. lol

i had this prob but i didnt relise these cars had centeral locking, turned out it was a fuse that needed replacing.
once that was changed the opening an locking of the car worked well

might sound daft but make sure the lock popper thingy that comes up the door card nr the window is straight not slightly twisted, that happend to one of mine as it was a stolen recovered and it rubbed just enough to stop it locking properly, opened fine,,
to cure it i took the card off and bent the rod till it ran straight, that cured it totally

is it ppossible to buy a centrol locking kit with a button? i do have central locking but i want a button!!

I am almost sure that the BG has central locking motors on each of the passengers doors but only a switch on the drivers door which is operated by the key. This means that a remote central locking kit will not lock the drivers door as it does not have it's own locking motor.

i have a ba is there a diffrence for this part?

ebay do a universal master cylinder which i got and fitted to the drivers side unit this seems to power the other modules around the car
i now have it installed for over a year and has never let me down were as the original modules die off rarely, but they dont like the cold weather much lol
its now operated by remote so it is possible mate

I have checked the fuses and they are all fine.
So it must be the relay, but where is the relay placed ?

locks go down but not up
i lubricated everything and this worked for some time but never fixed it
however i do reckomend taking your door cards off and having a look

I will take the door cards off and have a look then. But I would still like to know where the central locking relay is placed in the car?

behind the steel latace in the door
hust look for the looking rods should kinda be up the sides of the doors
try unhooking it all and give it a good clean up

They're located inside the door, near to the latch thing. (I believe)

the solenoids are towards the back of the door, on a rod down from the lock. Follow the wiring and you'll find it easy enough

An aftermarket remote central locking kit will work - use the control solenoid in the drivers door, and the rest in the others. I used a set on my RX7, and it worked a treat. The solenoids in the ebay kits are the same basic size as the mazda ones, it's an easy couple of hours work

Hi guys

I was welding some rust on my BG so I had disconnected the battery.

When I reconnected it, the central locking worked!

I guess the control unit rebooted or something.
