OK. Here is the story so far. I know it's a Probe but it's a KL engine in a ford body.
Had a 2.5 v6 Probe with a good engine
Bought another one with rings gone. Swapped engines 3 weeks ago.
At first it fired up sort of ok. Bit lumpy and bit of a misfire. Expected that as hadn't done ignition timing properly after swapping dizzys over. (Had to swap as it was an M reg engine out and an R reg one in. Different firing order.) Day came for the MOT. Struggled to start and would not accelerate properly. Took up bypass to warm it up and went for MOT. Passed emissions and Brakes then stalled as he went to drive it onto ramp. Would not start again till the next day. Managed to get it home again. Then would not fire at all. Had spark and fuel.
Tried GND 10 and the other 2 with an led light. It did flash a few codes but I struggled to read them. Also, as soon as i did GND 10, the fan kicked in without the engine running.
About this time I lost the spark at the plugs.
Next day I tried to do the fault codes again and my LED just stayed on all the time.
Now when I do it, the fan does not kick in and the LED does not do anything.
I lost the spark for days. Then 2 days ago it fired up and revved lovely. Then stalled and now no spark again.
List of things done.
New plugs, nearly new 10 mm leads
New Rotor Arm
New Dizzy cap.
New Crank Position Sensor.
I even put in my 323f old dizzy (exact same numbers as the probe one) with the external coil mod and external igniter module. Still No spark.
I think we have checked all plug connections and earths.
What comes next apart from throwing away a lot of money and towing it to the scrap yard.
Even local Auto Electrician won't come and look at it.
I'd buy an ecu if I knew it was a problem but I haven't got a clue.
Both cars ran ok before the engine swap.

Any help greatly needed.

That sounds like you do have a dodgy wire somewhere to me Checked the wires between engine and ECU? Maybe you snagged one swapping the engine?

Crank position sensor

Did you check the large ground wire. I had the same problem, wouldn't start with warm engine and bad spark. Added an extra ground wire and sorted the problem.

I wish it was. Tried 3 I had and even went and bought a new one.

Yes I did check it. Seems ok. I'll add another just for the hell of it though.

My way of thinking is a dodgy earth or wire somewhere. Wiring not my strong point. Will get on the case again tomorrow. Banned today as I've spent so much time on it I'll be accused of neglect soon.
