Hi Guys,

It's been some time since I've posted on here after I had to sale my F. :(

Now that the family has got bigger, I've gone for a Mazda 5. However, on-line help or info is lacking. (Unless your in the US)

I want to do a simple service to the car. Oil filter, air Filter, plugs etc.. However, most of the local car shops including Halfords don't seem to stock the bits I need.

Is there anywhere on-line that is a good place to get this stuff?

Many thanks

Matt

P.S. do you also know if anyone has done a good step-by-step guide on this type of thing? I know my way around a car's engine, but just want to know if there's anything I need to look out for which may cause an issue.

Hi,

Not much at all for the Mazda 5 on Youtube in regard to "How To's". Just review videos.

I'm really interested in getting the parts I need, So if any of you guys can help or know anyone with a Mazda 5 who may be able to help, then that would be great.

:D

have you tried your local dealership parts department? for the oil filter atleast. Plugs and oil can be had from most any parts shop.

I could sort a service kit out for you no problem. PM me with details of what you want and I'll get it sorted, might even add a Mazda 5 section to the store if there is a demand.

I was looking through the hand book for our motor, and now know that it has the FP engine, and was looking for the oil filter location, so I could change the oil myself, its not in there?

Not to worry I will easily find it, its not due for a while yet, but I like to change it every 10K along with the filter.

Cheers for that, so mine is the FS as it has the 2Ltr engine.

I felt a bit daft not knowing which engine I had, as the hand book seems to cover 3 different models, and a diesel engine?

Yep FS, I keep all service items for FS in the store, Probe 16v has them, so does Mazda 626.

Thats handy,as I will be looking for an oil & air filter and oil when its due the next oil change.

Mind you, I've found a place in town that have very reasonable rates for doing oil changes, and that would save me some work.

Just got to make sure that they put Fully Synthetic oil in.
;)
