HI all,

I recently started hearing a metal rattling noise coming from under the car (Mazda 5). I got the car up and found that the exhaust heat shield had come loose. A number of the fixings have rusted away.

Is it worth fixing or should I just take it off? I had a quick chat with the guy at my locate garage and he said they would just take it off.

I can do this myself, but just wanted to see what you guys thought of this? Should I just take it off or get it repaired? (Which, going by what the guy at the garage said, I may need to go to a Mazda dealer maybe).

only 1 we have left is around the fuel tank, most people just pull them off

Yep, just get it off. Bin it. useless item

Had a feeling that was the case, so I took it off last night when I had the chance. Didn't want it coming off and hitting another car or person on the street.
