Got this a few weeks ago, its a mk2 MX-5, S model with the stainless sill plates, chrome heater surrounds, leather steering wheel, and lsd. It's only done 39,000 miles, its 1998 year, so 4,000 a year average. Just passed its MOT.

Driving this just makes you realise how pants normal FWD cars are. You can control the direction of the car so much more with RWD. It's not that fast in a straight line but the grin factor going sideways is the dogs.

I still have the 323f, its feels like a big cruiser now compared to this. The top comes down every oppertunity, and I get annoyed seeing other convertibles with their roof up. Get it down you muppets!!!

my mate has a supra twin turbo, and his wife has a mk1 mx5 bbr turbo
He said if he ever had to sell one of them, it would be the supra, the mazda is just soooo much fun

heard the same myself, like they aren't super fast in a straight line but just give so much fun on the bends its unreal also heard they are dirt cheap to run and maintain, always a good thing

saw a few scary vids on the net of an mx5 going round the ring and while on the straights it wasn't nothing special but round the corners bloody hell it was keeping up / overtaking almost anything bikes, porsche gt2, the lot, my jaw was on the floor like unrealllllll

obviously it gets murdered on the straights but its hauling ass through those bends!

Cheers guys... Kash lowering it would spoil the handling! Yeah it's true they handle amazingly. It is the 1.8 with about 140bhp in a 1000kg car it's fast enough.

That vid shows you how well they go round corners, that was the 1.6 and the mk1, the mk2 have the more powerful engines.

IOW323F I've always fancied one, drove one and loved it so bought this for the summer. I have the roof down everytime its sunny and transforms the experience.

lowering it won't spoil the handling if you do it right just don't go for 17s or anything silly rim wise, they just don't take it too well - 15s are the way forward on an mx5 for sure

Now decent photo. Had some work done on the green machine, unseized rear brakes, new brake fluid, new rear brakes, hamerited the calipers, welded and rust proofed a small rust hole in the sill. Love it, so much fun and with the sun out the roof down nothing compares
