SARD Fuel Pressure Regulator

hi All,
just get my BPT a aftermarket SARD fuel pressure regulator. But now i a bit confuse to install it. For the stock fuel regulator, the vacum hose is actually connect to a pressure solenoid valve and the solenoid is connect to the intake manifold. See the photo that i highlight in red circle.

so, for the SARD FPR, do i need to connec to this solenoid or i can by past it. Meaning i connect the FPR vacum directly to the intake manifold?

The sard fpr come with 2 hole at the side. one for the fuel in and one for the gauge.

can i interchange this 2 hole, meaning swaping the position of the fuel in and gauge position. This definately will give me more option how to install the FPR into the compact n small BA engine bay.

last but not least, how to setup this FPR? what is the ideal fuel pressure for stock BPT turbo with 1 bar boost. roughly 180horsepower on wheel (dyno tested).

I can't comment on the SARD FPR - but on the FSE version for the BA - there are three connections.

1 - Fuel in

2 - Fuel out

3 - Vacuum hose connection

Is it not the vacuum hose that connects to your solenoid?

As for the pressure - FSE recomment 3.2 bar fuel pressure for UK non turbo engines with the engine on tick over but with the vacuum hose disconnected.

this morning..after some hard work..i finally setup the SARD fpr onto my car...currently i connect the vacum to the above mention solenoid valve...now looking through internet how to set the FPR before i really run the car hard...anyone can enlighten me on how to set it? what is the ideal preasure for idle and WOT?

hmmm on the standard BP motors it set at 3.2 but cos urs a turbo it should be set alittle higher then that. but i could be wrong.

for the setting, it should be done with or disconnect the vacum hose?

from the bpt user manual, it did mention that on the self diagnostic section that the pressure should be 38-46psi. so i also confuse now...hehehee...

FSE recommend that you set their valve with the engine running at idle, and the vacuum hose disconnected :thumbright:

If I were you I'd set it to 3.2Bar - then run the car for a few miles, and keep turning the pressure up a little until you are happy with the running.

You may need to adjust the idle speed in the mean time though......

when the vacum hose being disconnected, it is mean that it simulating WOT?

Dont touch the idle speed there is no need, conenct her with the vacum hose conencted, set her until the idle speed is correct at tickover, im fairly sure mine is around 3.5bar.. but you wont get the best out of it until you take it to a tuners and get the whole car set up, walbro next then??
