| Post subject: | GTX/GTR to BA V6 |
Has anyone transplanted GTX/GTR engine into BA V6 before ? Will it be more troublesome than 1.5/1.8 ? Thanks |

the GTX(BPT)/GTR(BPD) share the same engine mounts and gearbox mounting points as the 1.8 BP engine pretty sure that you'd have to source Driveshafts, a 1.8 gearbox and the engine for the conversion....... then you'd have the issues of the 4 stud on the front 5 stud on the rear...... |

Aren't the engine mounts different as well? |

im sure it would be easy as getting the GTR/X motor and then finding the rest of the parts from a BA 4cly, mounts from it, gearbox, axles, shift linkages, could be swapped out with in a day i reckon :P be worth getting a KL V6 instead in my opinion, power from 1000rpm to 7000rpm vs 3500rpm to 6500rpm |

You mean a KLZE There's a KLDE that's only about 170bhp, the KLZE is 200bhp.
There's another option. The UK KFDE (2L V6) has a low compression ratio that's good for turbo'ing The KLDE also has low compression ratio but obviously you need to do the engine swap as well.

I have been looking into this a bot over the last week. Doesnt look like to bigger job. Turbo, manifold, ECU (standalone) and an I.C.. Possibly some bigger injectors or 7th injector aswell. |
