I have a 95n Reg 1.8i GLX SE 16valve DOHC with this engine bay unsure if this is a preford or not info on this would be great for future references

Dont worry - works well on the 4 cyl Mazda's - here's something similar (MX5): http://www.ecotek.eu/more_cars_04.htm

It's only the 6 cyl engines that there are issues with - as there a split manifold.

Will work well on your 1.8i GLX - much improved throttle response being the most noticeable benefit.
