hi all.I have a 03 bj gsi.I need to replace the o/s fog light.I am not sure how to get to the securing screws at the top of the fog light bracket.Think its either removal of headlight or bumper!
Does anyone know the best option,apart from get someone else to do it!
Any replies will be greatly appreciated

I can't speak for the BJ, but certainly on the BAs the only way to fit/remove fogs is to remove the lights & bumper, and looking at a pic of the BJ bumper, I think it's unlikely Mazda suddenly altered their way of doing things after the model change (I stand correction, though)

I've done a search on the BJ guides section here, and years ago someone posted a link to a bunch of service manuals for the BJ:

The link is still live (it says Protege, but I gather they're similar/the same car) I hope that helps.

Or, you could try sending a private forum message to club member Stu.13 and asking him, as he had a BJ until recently (killed by rust, I gather, as so many were)

Hi SerenaJ,many thanks for the reply.Looking from underneath and the engine bay for about an hour told me changing a front fog light wouldn't be simple!Bumper off it is then!

I have the BJ repair book, and it says there is a difference between the 4SD and the 5HB (I assume this means the 4 door saloon and the 5 door hatch). Note that the 4 door saloon BJ was not officially imported to the UK but there are some about.

On the 4SD you can "turn over the mud guard" which I think means you can get at it from inside the wheel arch or something.
But for the 5HB it definitely says remove the front bumper.
Luckily my BJ is a LX so no fog lights!

anyway,front bumper off,new foglight in,bumper back on,foglights work,job done.You know it wasn't that simple but you get the idea!
