it's easier to just get the FL 323F Sport calipers in the UK instead of the Mazda6 ones

Yup, we already have big brakes.

Nice job though.

so does that mean the uk rear backing plates will clear 279mm rotors without modification? if so does anyone have a spare set?

the Aussie SP20 dust shields will clear 280mm discs just fine
how do I know? I did the EDM conversion myself!

so does this conversion not work on fl sports?

it's not needed for FL sport
for for 1.5 and 1.8s, upgrading is possible using FL sport rear mounting bracket (UK rear caliper same as FL sport), and front caliper from the FL sport
the discs? MX-5 ones or something else better perhaps

I have increased the front brakes to 300mm using Gh mazda6 calipers, renault scenic 300mm rotors, hubcentric rings (od=60.8mm to id=54.9mm - 7mm thick, 2mm spacer between caliper and stub assy.

Holding the pedal down stops the master cylinder draining while lines are undone.

The rings sort out the hub center bore differences.

Shown here with rotor on.

And finally job complete.
