Roof bars

I'm looking for some roof bars, not roof rack.
The ones that go from the front to back as apposed to left and right.
Will the 626 ones fit?
And does anyone have any eBay links please

They keep popping up from time to time. I think NeilF also had some 626 ones that he just cut down the main bar to suit. The OEM ones are really neat and just screw straight in,

I have a set of genuine mazda roof bars for the BJ, complete with fittings, keys, and paperwork

I have no use for them anymore

oops, sorry, just re-read your post. Nope, none of them go from front to back, unless you get the ones pictured, which replace your long strips, and go across too...the standard bars (that go across) do look pretty good, and as they bolt to the fixing points, are very sturdy!

here they are on the car, with the roofbox also fitted...I'm keeping the box though

They do look good fitted, the rubbers mate to the bodywork perfectly (as you'd expect) and they are nice and solid. The nice shape on the mounts means they don't look boxy, can't beat a good curve :lol:

Let me know if you're interested, these aren't available anymore from Mazda I believe, and they're much better than Thule or Halfrauds ones

They do look really good. I'll have to wait until the end of the month (pay day). I'm in the middle of an engine swap at the moment as well so all my money has gone into that.

Same as the ones I had, but mine were from a 626, and needed cutting down to length. I got mine from Ebay for a tenner. :-D

And this one is one of my favourites, with about 70 kg in the roofbox! :-D

Nice. On the protégés they come standard (I think but I'm probably wrong) from front to back. They're the ones I was looking for so I don't need to have the left to right style on there all the time, I can just unclip them whenever I wasn't using them.

The front to back roof rails were only available on the GSE model if I remember correctly, and this looks to only be available as the prefacelift. You might be able to find the rails off a scrapped car, but I dont know how easy it would be to install them. You would then need to find the crossrails (left to right), I had to go to Japan to get mine

, although I seem to remember one of the Dutch guys telling me they were available in Europe.
