hi guys i have a problem with my 99 mazda 323f 1.8 GSI its not smooth when idling someone said it might be misfiring how do you know and how do you fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

Welcome in. Common problem with these and a symptom is a misfire.. are the coil packs.

On mine they are under the plastic cover, sitting right on top :)


On yours can you see the spark plug leads? If so, follow them backwards from the plugs, and you should find the coil packs :)

What do the coil packs look like do you have a picture of the coil pack which would be really helpful. Thanks.

Ahhh i see where it is thanks for the help. Do i have to change the coil pack or is there a more cost effective way to fix the problem.

There an expensice part and Im unsure if theres away to test them if there are fine or not befire commiting to new ones.. Someone did post up a link to a cheaper supplier, i'll have a search to see if I can find it :thumbright:
