FYI, the US spec part is the same
however, if you owned a BJ sedan you MUST get the euro part as it is unique only to europe (no car in the US uses this part)... fortunately, BJ sedans were never officially sold in the UK, and imports all have the controls "backwards" as they're japan configuration

No problem, Basicly if its got the speed ajusment on it and a rear wiper it will work

( unless the stork is bust)

My rear whiper is broke anwyays, Moters gone (Confirmed by a voltmeater). if anyones got one by the way :P

looks like its ok. as long as there is a rear wiper . Its a 626 so it should.

my old 1999 1.5 had a broken rear motor too. the bushes in the motor had worn down and burnt out. my mate does model car racing and had some nearly the same size. but they fitted and i got it working again! they're like a flint from a lighter on a piece of string that rubs on the motor basically. although that was over two years ago. but i couldnt find a motor anywhere. mazda wanted over £90!!

I managed to do this in under 5 mins last night, very simple!

And I managed to find a wiper stalk for under £15!

No not as standard. and no this is not what you need.

it must have the viriable speed switch and from a 2001 up Mazda Tribute, MPV, Mazda6 or 626 Euro model NOT U.S.

I'd highly recommend any BJ owners who doesn't have one to look for one, it's really really useful, my most useful and cheapest mod to the Sport!

Agreed. My old BG had one and it was feckin' useful. Love having it in the Sport now!

Hi folks - this didn't work for me and I'm a bit disappointed. I bought this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220759214550&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT of ebay expecting it to be the right part as it was from a 2005 Mazda 6. It looked right and fitted fine but when I and everything worked EXCEPT the variable speed dial. Wipers just stayed the same speed regardless of where the dial was at.

Pure pish - any suggestions as to why? I'm out £22.50 for the part.

Are you sure it's not changing the speed of the wipers? 100%?

It doesn't change the speed of the wipers, it changes the gap between wipes, when on intermittent setting...

Cheers for the replies chaps - I understand exactly what its meant to do just didn't phrase it exactly right... When the wipers are set to INT the speed dial has absolutely no effect on the interval between wipes - or if it does have an effect it is so ridiculously small as to not be discernible by the human eye...

From the guide it looks like I have the right part - could just be a dodgy one. Will return it and try another one when it comes up I guess - really fancy having variable int wipers!

It isn't a great difference on mine - not like the BG (standard kit) which is like on setting 1, it misses 1 wipe, on 2 it misses 2 wipes, etc
On the BJ it isn't as direct, but there is a difference...

A maximum of 10 seconds extra between wipes on the lowest setting on mine if I remember correctly.
