incase anyone can quick help doin my clutch got it all ready to come out just cant get the angle right for the gearbox to come off. Should I drop the sub frame its got a bar acros the top? any ideas? Cheers

Subframe will be holding the gearbox in place so I'd say that will give you the angle you need.

How much was a clutch out of interest?

cheers erm iduno i got my work to order it cuz i could get it at trade and they took it off my wages is summit called blueprint clutch>? comes with new thrust bearing new clutch and housing and loads of other crap
cant be to much and looks a good quality 1 too my other 1 was so shagged its made me realise that i need to stop smokin it !lucky tho it went half hour after i got back from darlington but thats only cuz i had the wheels not on yet tho and wanted to bin the tyres in the best way! my luck! yea its all out now just on a break and then ill go and kill it off again]

i got my clutch for about £140. It was japanese brand but not mazda.

Yo Fraz - good luck with your clutch job. A quick hint - while you've got the box off, it's a good idea to also replace the oil seal on the crank ...

How did you go anout changing the clutch anyhow?

wasnt the easyest thing but briefly from what i can rem i removed battery tray and induction kit drive shaft the sub fram under the gearbox all the black platic bottom liner erm all leads etc goin into the gearbox erm bell housing bolts then also before this had the ingine on a beam bar across the top and dropped the top and bottop engine mounts by the gearbox and then used the bar to drop the engine a lil bit had a lil trouble getting the box out but did in the end changed bearings cleaned it out prperly had to the clutch was in a bad state erm so new housing and clean out incl the first motion shaft wich was covered in debree of clutch liner lol! it sounds alot but wasnt bad when u kno its your car. if i had to do it again id do the same thing but anyone without much knowledge or tools including a ramp id say ship it to a proper garage none of this mr clutch crap and get the good stuff,they were tryin to give me sum pressed cardboard cltch on the cheap which would have lasted 12 months top, sorry if this is scaring you but its really not that bad! in the end i changed gearbox, thrust bearing, oil and filter cltch housing,new battery cuzmine wouldnt even charge and was dead,erm bottom ball join on the nearside cuz there was loads of play erm adjusted my induction kit chnged plugs and gave the engine a full once over and also not forgetting checkin oil seal andtopping up gearbox oil was a top job and its perfect its smooth idles perfect ive just left the wheels spinz to barry and his m8s in the saxo's lol well for now, sorry for the badly spelled essay! any info just ask cuz it still very brief
