what are breather filters?

Hey, exactly what are breather filters used for and where do you fit them?

its the little pink and silver thing just up of centre of the image.

most people when they change their filter pop one on. i have moved it since, i shortened the pipe and stuck it more of less on the hole itself, but thats what it is, it simply allows the head to breathe.

Hmm, thanks for the info!

But what exactly is the advantage to doing that? Technically speaking.. or is it just so you don't have to hook the breather pipe up to your induction kit/replacement filter?

You're right, it is a silly question :drunken:

A 'bung' is something that is inserted into a hole to in effect block, fill or 'bung' it up!

Snot is technically a bung, as it bungs up your nose - but wouldn't be very effective in this case.
