| Post subject: | VRIS not working |
hi, been driving for a while noticing something was wrong with the power delivery of my v6. theres no more kick after 3k rpm like it used to have. figured i could no longer accept it not giving me its best potential. so decided to open up the hood and found the 1st VRIS valve not working. only the 2nd one does when i revved it. well, the one from the left of u when facing the engine IS the 1st one right? the one that engages in the lower revs. definitely that one not working. the inevitable question will be, how do i get it working again? |

well you found that it isn't working, the thing you need to find out know is WHY. is in connected to any electric components such as wires, fuses, etc? |

i heard something about swapping VRIS 1 vacuum hose with VRIS 2 hose, and see if VRIS 2 now opens at 3k something rpm. which hoses are those? by swapping the hoses wont cause any harm? |

Swap the electrical connections on top is the easiest. VRIS 1 solenoid fails first, as it is energised far more than 2. |
