Ive seen a topic yesterday of someone BA who was removing his door strips and the "shit" it left behind he removed with a rubber old pedal cause credit cards make scratches... can't find it back though but, are there products wich will help with it cause i wanna remove them .

need to know how to get the sticky crap of it to, anyone have any proven methods? Is the sticky stuff above really that good? I just don't want to damage the paintwork!

loctite 7070 cleaner - best thing for cleaning off old adhesive, and it will not damage your paintwork

I'll check out Halfords on the way home, Just been eyeing up pictutes of Cleanie and it just looks better without the strips to be honest.

you'll need to shop online mate, halfords won't sell that

I used a hairdryer to soften the glue as I pulled the strips off, then an old ruler as a scraper with some carplan T&G remover took about 4 hours in total

Hey guys thinking of doing this today or tomorrow, could you tell me do you literally pull of the door strips or do you have to do anything to prep them before pulling them off? I can't really see any way to gain purchase of them.

Just pull Take it slow, use some heat and you will have less glue/gunk to remove afterwards

Use a vanilla wheel to remove the adhesive that's left over...turns a one day job into an hour one

I don't have a vanilla wheel I will have time and a lot of polish next weekend though (hopefully)

it's a rubber compound wheel that you fix to your drill, it safely removes the adhesive, without damaging your paintwork.

Seen them for £15 odd on fleabay, they're a tenner in the motor factors

I'll have a look for one, unfortunatly don't have time to do anything to the car today.

Taking my strips off today Cosmos did you manage to find time to take yours off in the end?

Im useing Boiling water and dental floss to remove the strip, then nail varnish and cotten wool for the left over crap..... then a good old clean to finish off.

T-Cut works, also buffs your paint up abit + removes any scratchs from using a card

It's the only thing that makes sense. You can do 2 doors in 20 mins and it does zero damage to the paint, oh and it smells of caramel.
