hey guys havent been on here in a while
anyway im looking for the guide on de tangoing the front indicator's (ie taking the yellow lens out)
if anyone has a link to the guide or steps would be fanatasic

The guide seems to have disappeared. from memory i believe you have to submerge the unit in boiling water to soften the glue and then gently prize the plastic off to remove the orange bit.

Hot water works, but be very careful as the glue is the stickyist thing in the world! I got impatient and bent the light unit a bit in places, but you wont see it when it's fitted. (I hope)

put it in the oven at 80 degC - that'll soften the adhesive

Hi mate,

There is (was) a guide on the main site but obviously that's not accessible right now.

It's a wee bit of a pain to do because you NEED patience and patience isn't my strong point!

1. Take the side lights off the car and remove bulbs and wiring.
2. Get a (wide, if possible) flat head screw driver and a philips head.
3. Boil the kettle (you'll need to do this several times.)
4. Submerge the side lights in the hot water. This is to soften the glue.
5. Top up the water as it cools so it remains hot.
6. Once the glue that holds the casing to the lens has heated up enough you should be able to start prizing them gently apart. There are bits all around the light the you need to un-clip. You'll notice these when you look closely. Take your time. It's easy to damage them (Especially if you've not given it enough time to heat up.)
7. Eventually the pieces will comes apart.
8. Unscrew the two philips screws the hold each of the orange bits in place.
9. Heat the glue up again either with hot water but preferably with a hair dryer or heat gun as this will give you a chance to properly dry the side lights. Once the glue is warmed up push the parts firmly back together. Again it's all too easy to break something here so be careful.
10. Once they're properly pushed back together you're pretty much done. You just need to ensure they're dry. (The last thing you want is condensation) Whip them back on the car and put in some silver bulbs that flash amber (although to be honest I never bothered with these.)

ive got a spare pair that im doing this on so it dont matter if i stuff it up

There is a alternative way . I did this without disembling the lights.

I took a soldering iron with a thin tip, took it in the hole for the turninglight bulb and VERY VERY VERY gently melted the yellow plastic in two. Do not push the soldering iron inwards just take your time and let the heat melt up the yellow stuff. Then i melted alongside the yellow plastic without touching other parts of the lamp and melted the yellow plastic in the corners. Now i was left with a yellow lens witch was mostly in parts and ripped it out with a pair of thin pliers. You can brake of the yellow lens close too the screws holding it in and just lurk it out with the pliers. Took some time but now the lamps are completly sealed and the yellow stuff is gone.

Be careful with the soldering iron because its very difficult to not touch the plastic housing, take good time and dont blame me if the lamp is melted. Its a bit risky.
