aww you didnt get the lil dash speaker.

they hole reason behind it is that the jap type R (dont know if it was limited to only type R or not, but Japs...), legend has it, came with a double din surround sound system.

i can confirm at least part of this, as when i was in a scrappy earlier this year, when we collect a rear strut brace and many other Type R goodies, we noticed that the car had a double din cage in the centre console as well as having the mini dash speaker. we duely kidnapped the dash speaker, though it was stuffed. interesting never the less to look at.

Hi ben, I've just recently signed up to this club due to changing the current speakers in my imported mazda 323f 1998 and need a little help. I wanted to double check that the speaker sizes are 5x7 in the front and 6 or 6.5" in the back? I would also be very greatful if you could tell me how to aproach getting the rear door cards off? many thanks rob

just a small comment when you were doing the measurements on the front doors would have been a good time to install some dynamat, sound deadening on those doors. when i used to have the noise turned up on the factory speakers the panels would vibrate pretty bad... but at the time didnt care lol
