If you open the port, you might have a diagram on the inside of the lid. If not, this should be right

does anybody have a picture of an open diagnostic port with GDN and TEN marked as my idle is sitting rather high on start up 1600-1800rpm have searched through a few guides but none are opening or do not exsist any more Thanks Nathan |

It is so that the engine can reach its normal operating temperature quicker. Where does it sit when the engine has warmed up? I wouldn't worry if it's between 750 - 800 rpm. Then again it won't do any harm if you reset the idle, just make sure you do it only when the engine has reached it's normal operating temp.
