OK - I have this really annoying knocking noise coming from the car when i travelling between 10 & about 20 Mph and have the wheels on full lock either way... Could be CV joints or a bearing... or maybe the suspension bushes methinks.... Any1 got any other ideas? Also does anyone know the rough ballpark prices for the above parts?? begining to cry now! Thing is, the MOT was only done a couple of months ago - shouldnt they have picked this stuff up?

Tom, Wheel nuts!! - Had to do mine up last week! Sounds like CV joints if the wheels haven't been removed lately. Mine cost ~£180 inc VAT and parts for both sides, but I beleive that was a good price (not Mazda Dealer). As for MOT - the joints can be shot to pieces, but as long as the boots are intact thats OK. I guess this because of grease being flicked out all over the road 'cos a duff CV joint isn't usually a safety thing. Mark |

I'd start saving for the other CV joint - it won't be far behind. Mark |

allway go for the new joints as usually only 10 to 20 diff in the price over the re-conditioned ones, ie £95 for recon £115 new this was on my old mk2 cavalier i had about 8 years ago. John |
