Why don't you want the 175 hp car in your daily? Is it too powerful?

130-140hp it is almost like the KF V6

Is it possible to gain any power by just optimizing fuel delivery with the wideband O2 sensor and making the engine do not run such rich mixture?

Well, in theory yes, one could try different injectors and vary fuel pressure.
Dont know if it would be worth while in terms of power gains but you certainly could optimize fuel economy. But then, i'm focusing on the 1.8 BP, the Z5 as in your case is a different story.
As for my MX5 engine:
It's really a different animal although it's the same BP05 base engine - however, it has a completely different torque curve than the BP in my BA and is tuned for max. power at about 7300rpm. For daily use it lacks all the torque below 5000rpm which is why it's only for fun

Mirrors were BMW E39 M5 with home made adapters made from OEM mirrors.

Which car do you like more? Where do you feel better sitting behind the steering wheel? Mazda 323F BA or MX-5?

In the BA i definitely sit better, feel more comfortable (regardless of the harsh suspension) and can take longer trips. The NA just wears you down, and if you're tall like me, it's really only the one seating position which gets tiring rather quickly. That said, it's the most fun car to to enjoy the roads of blackwood forest, rhine riverside roads or clubsport-like tracks.
Although they technically have the same engine, they are so different. I used to drive the BA fast, even with the old Z5 engine. I almost dont do that an more because it feels so slow, wobbly and distant in comparison to the NA. The NA you can't really drive slowly, you're always in Maximum Attack mode ^^

Yes, i do - i meant, i'm not too sure whether that is a good thing

And yes, i really like the MX5 although i only drove it very little the past 2 years. And it's kind of a bank drainer ^^
It was either go V6 with the BA or get the NA and although i love the K-series, the NA is a completely different type of drive.

Yeah, got some "usable" Boschs again (i think my 4th attempt) but I'm still not convinced by their quality (looks are def better).
Any naaah, no GTX MX5 - you want it screaming like a superbike

If you ever decide to take a Euro roadtrip, I'll be happy to give you a ride

by the way: cant wait to get my OZ wheels back from the paint shop...

Right, small update:
Set out to exchange the downpipe as well as the oil pan seals.
Found a OEM piece last year and took off the "jacket":

Taking off the exhaust:

I had replaced the oil pan seals once befor last year - turns out i used the wrong ones

Also snapped a bolt which i now was able to get out:

Here's the new seals vs. last year's - spot the difference?:

Turns out, only BG GT and early BA 1.8 use the oil baffle plate which makes the slightly thicker seals a necessity since the plate is bolted between oil pan an block.

After cleaning up and applying new sealant.

Added magnetic sump plug

Replaced the O2 sensor with a less old one. Plus new intake pipe.

Added newly puchased carbon fible hub caps and MX5 lug nuts to my now Subaru gold Superleggeras.
