Development in pictures:

We got it ready..

the engine got out with the exhaust and turbo still on it

there's no stress on the back on the new engine stand :D

The problem:

3-rd and 4-th cylinder were hotter than they should,
i wonder why

4 not new but good pistons just cleaned a bit :D

Everything from the engine thoroughly cleand, well, almost

ready to fit :D

Little colour, it's purple but the camera decided that is blue

step by step adding new and old cleaned parts, crankshaft, oil and water pumps,pistons..
piston rings are with filed gaps from 0.25/0.35mm stock ones to 0.50/0.55mm
this should be enough..

Almost ready to mount it back in

Cleaned engine bay (gearbox was dirty as hell)

Last night i was almost ready to fire it up, but eventually i gave it up and left it for today.

Today it fired up almost right away.
Now it is with the smaller injectors, next is low stress period of driving, then dyno..
This is for now.
The "WwwhhuuuuTssssss" is canceled for the next 1000-2000 кm.
Cheers!

Soo, the car ran fine, little too lean in high revs.
I got the "big" injectors back and everything goes to normal.
Almost everything. With every ride i took with it, the car left a small puddle of oil.
It started to annoy me from the fist time i saw it..
And i disassemble it again infront of my apartment building..

Soo here's the causer of the leak:

Brand new oil ring, piece of sh.t, it lasted 60km and leaked like a watering can, i thought to myself, i may have damaged it trough assembly, maybe scratched it, something, but no! When i got it out it was like new, no scratches, no marks, nothing..
It's not enough that it makes puddles of oil on the ground, but it gets the timing belt wet, and that's not good..

The car now fires from the first crank, drives good,at low revs the O2 sensor is showing good burn of the fuel.
Few times i rev it to 5.5K rpms, well it pulls really good.
(i showed the dark side of Mazda to a BMW driver who didn't understood what was happening and why his car is the slower one)
We will see how long it will hold up this time.
I'm sure that it will last a minimum of 2 years without any problems, but we'll see.

I prepared for it 4 brand new "Triangles"
205/40/17
for the wheels i got for it(dont kill me)

I don't want to drive it 3-rd year with it's 14" winter wheels with that kind of power under the hood..
Cheers! :wav: :wav:

That's so awesome, shame the engine didn't last much until it needed rebuilt. I found a company that makes forged rods for the Z5 but they're not cheap, if you want I can put the link up.

Would be so awesome to have a turbo one

Thanks, but i'm not after dissasembling it again
And when you said " not cheap" you lost me..
Almost 7 monts there where no detonations or any kind of iregularity, so i believe that with bigger piston ring gaps the problem is solved. The engine withstand the power it produses. If it was going to fail from the stress, it was going to fail far sooner than it did. Only time will tell how long it will take, but hey, the rebuild costs are maybe around 500-600bgn.. not that big of a deal (if there's nothing broken)
So Blue got new wheel colour:

From this:

to this:

by doing this card hack:

so all four got hacked

and it started to rain right after that..

I haven't posted here aswell, so here's the quick overview:

After the second blowup of the motor i eventually gave up on the turbo project and removed the engine and all turbo related parts and fitted the old motor from Anti inside Blue. The transplant was pretty straight forward and clean so Blue started from the first crank as it was with this heart it's whole life.
I got new 17" wheels with new tyres for summer and another 15" wheels with new winter tyres for Blue as it is the main transport for my wife and kids. Mm, i should share with you that they are 3 now!
My youngest son is 4 months old! :D
Soo, happy days!
Will get back with some pictures of the cars and other stuff soon.
I have a whole year off work, so leisure and peace of mind is sumping up the time ahead.
Cheers people!
And i wish you a Happy New Year!
