I'm thinking about lowering the car by replacing 17'' wheels with 16'' inch with 195/40/16 rubber, but that's the plan for 2013 season if I'll be able to find some 16'' wheels I like

Since my last visit here car has evolved a bit, there's new CAI, new gearbox from 323P 1.3 (shorter ratios), some visual changes, wheel spacers front and rear. Here are some fresh photos from last weekend's Mazdaspeed.pl national meeting

Since latast mods and on shorter gearbox acceleration have improved slightly (9.51@60mph via g-tech, altough lanuch on 205 yokohamas avs is extremely difficult, since they grip like crazy)

It was raining and my Yoko's AVS arent the best tires for quick launch in the wet

So best time from that day was 19.2. before that I was testing my new gearbox and mods via g-tech and on dry surface, launch @ 5000 rpm best time recorded was 17,889 afair. Im pleased with new gear ratios, altough getting 5th gear from B8 gearbox would be best, cause at 120 km/h I'm already above 4000 rpm.

Mine made in 2011, 17.775 with Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 205/45 R16, so... are similar

My time as well as yours is a bit optimistic, cause Mx-5 1.6 does about 17,6 in dry conditions

Realistically its about 18,2s

New setup, Borbet RST 8x17'' with spacers ET 32 and 29, nankang 195/40/17

I know its not for everyone's taste, its a bit german I agree, but I like them a lot since I got bored of my wheels after 3 years

I know, its the photos - the surface wasnt leveled, so it looks a bit higher, while it should be couple of mm lower at the front thanks to lower profile on front tires. I'll make some better photos today to show the wheels more

Autumn is coming quickly so the season for saving money has almost begun

First mod for spring will be FK Coilvers + 195/40/17 tires also at the back plus poliurethan bushings in suspension.
