Nah parcel shelf, where else could 6x9's go? They wouldnt even fit underneath the seats.

Also have been offered a working sub AND broken 4 1/2" dvd head unit for £20 all in. I will pass on this occasion cos i dont know how to test em.

I have already cut the holes in the parcel shelf, also the 6 x 9's that i have would definately not fit in the door as they are about 4 1/2 inches tall, i spotted a second set of 6 x 9's at the scrappys though that were not as tall so they have a good chance of fitting. I think i will be doing this!

Also i tested the speakers, they work!!! YAY!

EDIT:

Some pics, i couldnt find my Jigsaw so i used a sharp kitchen knife and pushed it through to get the exact size holes. Worked a treat. Anyways here is how i did them!

I have the car wired up already from the head unit so i just need to connect the wire in the back. Simples!

I changed my mind on the 6x9's. Went to the scrapyard this morning and got a new parcel shelf and fitted these other 6x9's instead cos they have MUCH better sound quality. Next i got a Renault vented splitter and fitted that (got 3 self tappers to still put in but my arms are dead from doing all this so it is not fully finished yet. Also i got seat belt cover things so i have 3 x ripspeed things. Ripspeed seatbelt covers/mats/sills.

one of them was a bit crackly, so the other ones i fitted were JBL's too Roy. Just newer models with better sound. The other ones must have been in a crash due to the state of the car i ripped them out of.

Okey dokey here is todays progress.

If you compare the old and the new i painted the strut brace from black to silver, replaced the rocker cover VERY kindly given to me from Jason which esd painted by his father in law Colin which i am eternally grateful, also i took some wire wool to the circular thing that the throttle cable is attached to and also where my dizzy o ring was replaced i cleaned up some of the oil kicking about. Basically if it was metal it got attacked by wire wool and elbow grease so if you look closely you will see some bits cleaned up.

Loving the engine bay!

Allthough you should get a bucket of water and some cleaning
kit and just clean all the directly visible stuff like the black airfilter
tube and just the top of the hose n things. Will make it all look
even better!

I got a flyer on my car the other day thats advertising steam cleaning on the engine for £15 I'll grab the details if u want as there still in the car

Kind offer mate but i dont trust anyone in my engine bay, i will keep tackling the bay until i am happy with it!

Next projects for the Dunce (me) are:

Cream Leathers (ordered)
ZXI interior (needed) mats (ordered) and door cards (some rewiring is needed cos of the larger switch for rear eleccy window)
Interior LED's (Daire is helping with this)
Front Grille (wait n see!)
Ecotek Valve (Hopefully seeing Nat about this)

hmmm i reckon about 2 - 6 weeks for this next step dependant on funds.

Steve I got cream leather door cards if you need em mate. You can even change the bottom half to have your window winder mechanism in IF YOUR CAR is a Post Ford. :lol:

steve have you got the rear leccy window mechs? if your looking for some we could come to some sort of arrangement for the ecotek and the window mechs i also have the lower door cards for the rear electric conversion. i was going to do it but don't have the time at the moment.

i am pretty sure my car is hybrid (both post and pre ford) as i have a mixture of things indicating it is both. I wont be tackling the rear electric windows as the children will just constantly play with the switches whether they are on or not probably until they break. I am getting the cream inserts but i will need ZXI door cards for them to look ok and fit properly, i have tackled this before but i couldnt be bothered with the wiring but now i have a reason for doing it. I am still keen for the ecotek nathm just wanting to find out more about it.

After a friday night out at an engagement party with the wife and baby.

Went and got my cream leather seats, on staurday lunchtime door cards and ZXI green mats today and fitted them. Thanks to Steve in glasgow who sold me the lot for £75
