If you pay for something via Paypal using the "gift" option, then its not possible to open a dispute if goods don't arrive, or if the seller disappears after payment has been made.


The normal Paypal costs for non-gift tranactions at the moment are 3.4% of the selling fee + 20p

EG: an item bought for £10, the fees would be 54p (3.4% of £10 + 20p)
An item sold for £50 would be £1.90. (3.4% of £50 + 20p)

Not a lot of money for a bit of peace of mind.
