Hey Guys,

I know there are a few threads about this alarm on here.

I've got one on my 1993 BG. Two fobs (big black boxes with single button)

I'm not sure what model of alarm it is. It all works fine, however most of the time reception from the keyfobs leaves alot to be desired.

Sometimes i have to stand right next to the drivers side door and press it before it will unlock.

Does anyone know of a way to increase the signal or reception control unit side? I've looked in the keyfob and theres nothing there to adjust.

I've also replaced the battery on both fobs, both have exactly the same issues.

Also if anyone knows where the control unit will be, and what it looks like I can open it up to see if there's any blown capacitors or anything.

If not how much would you be looking at for a new alarm/immobiliser that does central locking? Could you splice it into the old alarm wiring if possible?

Thanks,
Andy :)

I know the old gubbins of mine where in two locations.
Directly above the glovebox, which is easily removable or...
Stuck to the tunnel directly behind the centre console.
