Superchargers and turbos require lower compression ratios than NA engines, could you take the turbo off a GTX and replace it with a supercharger and would it work with the GTX ECU?

Is the ecu fully tunable? If it is then I would say yeah definately! Do it!

Why not twin charge. Do it in series so that the turbo feed the charger so you will have great bottom end and a nice kick when the turbo kicks in

Nope, no ECU was never on it and he even didn't finish the supercharger build.

It's an interesting concept, and I think a charger will work interestingly well. But I'm not trying...

Came across an SC kit for the KL, basically a pic I found on Google, no price, no idea of availability :|

I'm getting a little confused kl engine, ba body right? If that's the case doesn't the v6 have a variable air intake? That's one thing I don't want to lose and making me worry about charging the air intake in any way.
I'm also very very worried about the distributor being a limiting factor on performance and optimum spark profile

Twin charge sounds like a great idea. I love superchargers as im a world war plane nut. You wouldnt need a variable intake with positive charge.. It would be pointless because the change in runner length is to do with the air speed to optimise torque etc. If its being rammed in by a supercharger you will get torque!

In my situation I like the change in the sound notes when the variation occurs. I also like how the car feels after I push it higher in Rev range. It becomes rather responsive even after the revs drop a bit.
The more I drive my ba the more I get accustomed to it and I'm beginning to want to keep its identity as much as I can. Even love the exhaust notes now.
I spend a lot of time on the Internet watching other car reviews and all sorts and yet, this 1998 car designed by an ex porche employee is really special.
I think I'm going to buy more so I can tweak them more freely while upgrading my current ba without running her

That sounds like a great idea. Best of both worlds. You can get multi speed charger systems also for a change in the pick up in the rev range. A twin charge system would also enable a good size turbo and you would most likely get a power surge as that spooled also.
