Thanks mate ;)
My Sportiva is good, even if some "f*ckin' stripes" made by other in street (doors, caddy at supermarket.. etc) :(

Hum... there was a kind of meet with Astina & Sportiva in the north, with some members of FA (this page : http://www.forum-auto.com/marques/mazda ... -11830.htm and the FB page : https://www.facebook.com/mazda323Ftousmodeles ) but there are less people than here ;)
Or with the MFC maybe, but it's predominately 323GT & GTR or 3 MPS.

Hi all,

Last night, I had problems with my 323c... On the road with friends, I had a sudden overheating engine, then I heard a sound like a crackling noise ("bruit de crépitement" in french)... I stop on the side.
Result : the plug on coolant expansion tank blow up (coolant liquid all over the engine... :( ). We waited for the car to cool down.. But she don't want to restart after...
After, we saw the accessory belt which drives the alternator and water pump, the belt was laminated (a little destroyed..)...

We have tinkered like MacGyver on the belt between 2:00 / 3:00 am, to go back home. I was very stressed to drive my car, I looked the temperature manometers every minute.

This morning with a friend, we change the belt. We can't change the second belt ( I think it's the belt which drive the power steering pump), even if it's looks good, because stores dont have this belt. We purge the coolant liquid.
After, we removed the calorstat (regulator of engine temperature), 'cause last night my friends suspected this part of being dead.
I see my air hose is more crackled than I think...

My program for this week : change the coolant liquid, second belt, calorstat, and an oil change.
I hope when it's done my "c" restart like his first day :) But in the month I will change HT lead of the engine and spark plugs maybe, and if it's possible a engine overhaul.

I wish you a good weekend.

(sorry for my bad english, I try to write my friday story correctly)

Some news ! Some news ! My project evolves, even if it's not in the way I thought, but it still advanced
Indeed, my OEM brake discs, and brake pads are deads...
Therefore :
Direct air intake + remove the resonator : Done in August
K&N Air Filter : Installed in September
Brake disc (front) : Brembo Max, ordered
Brake pads : EBC YellowStuff, ordered
Stainless steel braided hose (aviation type hose) : When I will know the lenght..
15" white rims & Toyo T1R: December .
Front strut brace : ZXi Strut brace don't fit on my C.. Missing holes for attaching the bar :/
I'll buy a new one in 2013. And when I paint the ZXi brace, I'll re-sell it here ;)
Rear strut brace : 2013

As my friends said, I'll go to make a "waaataaaaataaatataaaataaaaaa" with my 323 soon :)

Thanks :)

If the 323C is as rare as in UK than in France.. sure it's hard to find one..
But now you have a great 323F GTR ;)

In Portugal, 323C are rare as 323F ;)

In Quinta do Conde (where I live - with ~26.000 inhabitants), only exist my 2 323F, and other 2, one sparkle green and one black ;)

by the way... nice wheels! Looks much better!

Thanks ^^ I'm eager to put new brakes on :D

I live around Toulouse (he fourth largest city of France..) and the 323F is rare, less than the 323C.
And when I go to my parents's home in their village, in the Gers, I didn't see any 323F.. I'm not sure there is a Mazda dealer in this department

Some news :
This weekend, there is the South Super Meet, a kind of little JapFest in France, near Perpignan. I'll go with my C, and I hope to have some good pictures of my car :D

This week, I changed a piece from the exhaust (the bend under the exhaust manifold) because it was broken.
There is a weld on it, probably because it was broken by the old owner
The old one : Image

Yesterday I changed the cabin filter.

The old filters : Image
I think nobody has changed those filters for years...
