Well, here's all about my lady,
a 98' post ford 1.5 F BA,
nothing special at all.

2008

that's how she looked when i got her (basically i loved her 12R):

Problems at this time: mainly paint damages and rust.
I know, considered economically it's not a very good base for modding but she really means a lot to me, so i'm not gonna let her die.

2009

old interior:

after a few month i couldn't stand the green any more and resprayed it.

i had a lot of ideas, in retrospect - one worse than the other...

2010

Then, in spring 2010, a f**king transporter lost some kind of ramp on the motorway.

a friend of mine borrowed me the spare bumper of his F (as you see i had to improvise with the positions of the front sidelights/repeaters as the bumper doesn't have "openings" for the original ones  ).

i then bought a complete aftermarket body kit but first only fitted the front bumper.

Unfortunately i don't have any pics of the rear bumper (the same one Mobiius has) and the sideskirts, both didn't fit (the sideskirts were about 1cm too short and the fitment of the rear bumper and the spoiler was even worse.

you can see on the pic how much distance between the spoiler and the boot lid is. And, as seen on the pic, the rear wiper has been removed. I kept the spoiler though as i really like it, maybe one day when i got no other things to do, i'll try to get it fitted.

in between i had a 8000k HID kit fitted for a short time.

basically i liked it but due to constant problems with it i "put" the normal bulbs back in, but that's another long story.

patched up again, got a set of 4 doors in good condition. Only fitted the driver door to keep her on the road, the other 3 doors would replace mine to a later point as all her doors were rusty as hell.

2011

Next step: the fight against the rust. A lot of welding work had to be done at the rear arches, the underbody and the fenders.

preparing for the new paintwork.

ready to take her to the paintshop. i also bought her a new windscreen, a new front bumper and a new bonnet which we delivered to the paintshop in a friend's mx6 and in her.

pics from the paintshop:

and after a few weeks i finally picked her up with Blue Flame in new colour :D

2012

modding started. type R indicators fitted:

got my reflector panel back from a friend who lamited it with proper carbon:

got a set of 14" wheels from Blue Flame, as the 17" OZ wheels i bought didn't fit due to a wrong pitch circle.

and black headlining, credit goes to a good friend who has done a really nice job on that (bad mobile pic though).

in April - ready for MOT, a few things had to be done like exhaust, springs and a few other little things - thank you Blue Flame for getting her back on the road after a year :D

modding goes further on, fitted the RGM cupwings i bought off col, the flutes and the rear spats.

also got a 3 spoke Nardi steering wheel off a BJ and interior chrome door handles.

then a set of postford front fogs

in September, Blue Flame and i picked up another 1.8 post ford BA. Unfortunately it didn't have a long life, Blue Flame took out the parts he wanted and i'm just in need of all things under the bonnet for the planned engine conversion.

2013

10th March - her 15th birthday. :D :occasion6:
April - passed MOT
also repainted the interior parts in Mazda 29Y Titanium Grey Metallic - but this time in the professional way

fitted the headlight protectors i bought off Debz (unfortunately i had to take out the chrome film as this would be an illegal thing over here  )

in between we began to strip the 1.8

May - KAW springs & new 17" OZ Record rims which Blue Flame repainted for me in 29Y Titanium Grey :D also a good time for a treatment to the arches and drum brakes

also painted the rear panel in 29Y as unfortunately the carbon started to peel off and put the BJ 323F badge on

going on with the 1.8 stripping - engine, wiring looms & all parts needed for the conversion out, the chassis had to go

and also painted the sill plates in 29Y

September - back to post ford mirros and painted the windshield wiper arms in 29Y

October - got my first 1.8 engine parts from Blue Flame for my birthday :D Toda Racing Camshafts

December - last but not least - in October i got a set of mx3 front seats which had been off to a saddler together with her rear seats. i got them back 2 weeks ago, all new in black leather and black clothes, they look fantastic :D
no pics yet, will be an 2014 update.

The pic of your damaged door was a bit of a shock!!...driver's side too

Good attitude though...keep at it and eventually you'll have it exactly how you want it :)

The accident pic looks like a tin opener has tried to open the side of your motor. Lucky your still in one piece.

If you look at the first lot of photos she already has flutes

correct, the flutes will be painted seperately and then fitted again.

I went through that 7 weeks ago. Make me miss my car even more now... (Lets hope your car lasts longer than 4 weeks before the rust starts coming through again :( )

if rust comes through again, i'll save money again and do it all new again. if rust comes through within the following weeks, i'd give the car to the painter and he would have to do a new paintwork (guarantee). But i'm confident that i'll have a long time of pleasure with her till coarser rust problems will appear. i know, that if once there had been rust, there will be rust again. but i've spend so much money on that car that i could have 3 F's now. i don't care about work or money, i'd never give up this girl.
