Gear Gaitor Fitting

Introduction

when you fit an aftermarket gearknob, the rubber gaitor will not have a flange to jam it up against the bottom of the knob. Here`s what to do......

Instructions

1. Cut the flange off your old gearknob using a hacksaw.


2. Slide a small jubilee clip onto the gear shaft, and then slide the flange on.


3. Fit your new gearknob as normal.


4. When its fitted, slide the flange up to the underside of the knob.


5. Tighten the jubilee clip right underneath the flange holding it against the underside of the knob.


6. Manipulate the gaitor to fit over the flange as normal.
