Door Card Removal
By Joe Mitchel (Joe Mazda)
Instructions
- Undo the 3 screws as shown in the picture. You may need to use a small flathead screwdriver to prise the screws out once they are fully undone.
- Prise up the electric window switch box. Do this by gently using a screwdriver at the top end. The box should come up free. Then disconnect the white/clear colour connector. Once done the switch box will be free.
- Remove the black cover near the wing mirror. Do this by using your hand to pull it away from where it meets the glass - it's not that tight.
- Gently go around the edge prising free the retaining clips as shown in the picture. Just gently use your hands and they should pop free from their mounting holes. Warning - if you start hearing like a tearing noise that means the clip is ripping from the door card! You will need to be very careful not to unclip it from the door card as they will never go back on (not the end of the world, but if you remove too many the door card will flap around the edges!).
The door card:
- The door card should now feel loose apart from the door handle. Gently force the handle through the door card, it should be a tight squeeze but it does go through.
- Now you should be able to remove the door card completely by lifting it up. You can now access your front door speakers, window motors, door lock motors and more goodies!
