Bought it as a wee present to myself. Can't wait to take it out properly! 240bhp to the rear wheels, will take a bit getting used to after 4 wheel drive!

vris is veriable reasonance induction system. basically alters the length of the intake to give best power and economy. fairly common these days a lot of manufacturers have them under different names, so not all that special.

hondas vtec system is a veriable valve timing system, stands for Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control. not sure exactly how it works but it allows the timing on the intake cam to be changed, so it can stay open longer more fuel rev higher etc.

there are similar systems about by other manufacturers but not as many as the VRIS.

interestingly veriable valve timing was invented by honda in the late 70s and Honda claim never to have had a vtec engine fail!

Thats true apparently. Honda never having a Vtec system in for repair.
It works with oil pressure, changing the valve spec according ot revs/oil pressure.
Wonderful idea, and the bonus is its reliable too.

Nice car Sean, you big hairdresser you..... laughing6

yea it has like 3 cam lobe thingy's if I remember correctly from a simulation on how it works the oil pressure engages the 3rd lobe that has mroe agressive timing or something along those lines i think

Have to say, what a weird day! Went to Crail with the car and decided to drive in, poser style, with the roof down. Chat to my mates for a bit then off onto the strip.

After a few runs, a guy comes running from the crowd and first thing he says is "I've had a boner since you drove in!". Looking weirdly at him I had to clarify if it was me or the car and, fortunately, it was the car! He then started asking me all these questions about it and I drove off for my run.

Later on, same guy comes up to me and begs me to race him in his Civic vti. I agree and he runs off to get his mates. He puts one in the car with a video camera, one on the start line with a picture camera and another with a video camera. As I'm racing him I gave him a wee wave as I ripped away and after the race he came up and shook my hand, thanking me?!

No doubt he's locked himself up in a room somewhere doing stuff with the footage..... yeeeechh....

Bearing in mind this guy was like 30 years old! lol

Yeah we had to wear helmets. Didn't know till me got there and they charged us a fiver deposit for each helmet. Thing was, they were absolutely minging! Once you took the helmet off all this weird stuff kept falling out our hair and we had to jump in the shower when we got home. I couldn't get the power down, a couple of times the wheels just spun and the car began going sideways..... fantastic fun! Think the fastest was 15.3 or so

S2000, oooo you lucky man you! My mate had one of those after his VX220... What a car! He did get bored of it though as he kept scraping the front bumper on everything, so he ended up getting a scooter. But the couple of times I had a ride in it, wow... I messed my pants more than once! Very Happy
