FSE Valve Installation1 Ensure the engine is switched off, and is cool - left overnight is best. 2 Locate the position, which you will mount the FSE valve and connect a short fuel hose to the side outlet of the valve, and a longer fuel hose to the underside outlet of the valve - secure with jubilee clips. Check out the photos and your engine for approximate hose lengths. Make them too long if anything, they can always be adjusted later once you've got the old regulator off. Fix the FSE valve to the car body via a bracket. 3 Connect the short hose from the FSE valve to the Fuel Rail adaptor (silver thing with a wing each side and a pipe connector!) 4 Undo the two bolts, which fix the fuel rail to the engine - this will allow you easy access to the pipe connection underneath the rail. Once you've removed the two bolts carefully pull the rail up from the engine - Each of the four injectors are just 'push fitted' into the engine. At this stage it might also be handy to disconnect the two retaining bolts on the throttle cable - allows better access to everything. 5 Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel regulator then undo the two bolts that hold the existing fuel regulator to the fuel rail. Gently pull the regulator off the rail. Have an old towel ready as you will get a little bit of fuel come out of the pipe work - be prepared and don't panic! The little bit of fuel that you spill will evaporate quicker than you can say, "oh shit there's fuel leaking on my engine and it will surely ignite when I start the engine" 6 Disconnect the short piece of hose from the regulator to the underside pipe on the fuel hose - disconnect this at the fuel rail end by gripping the clip with a pair of pliers to release it. 7 Connect the long hose from the FSE valve to the underside pipe on the fuel hose before securing with a jubilee clip. 8 Connect the fuel rail adaptor (which is in turn connected to the FSE valve by the short hose) by carefully pushing it into the end of the fuel rail before securing with the two bolts from the original regulator. It's the bit with the rubber 'o' ring that fits into the end of the fuel rail. 9 Check all fuel hose connections before reinstalling the fuel rail - by carefully relocating the four injectors, applying gentle pressure to push them into their holes before securing with the two bolts. 10 Fit the vacuum hose onto the top connector of the FSE valve. 11 Reconnect the throttle cable if removed in item 4 12 Follow the manufacturer's instructions for setting up / testing / checking your installation - but ensure that a mate starts the engine and you've got a fire extinguisher ready!!!!! (I'm only joking).
