Dash Board Removal

Should you for any reason need to remove your dash board for example to remove the console pod, this guide will point you in the right direction to make things quicker.

All you will need to carry out this task is a crossed head and flat head screw driver.

Step 1
First remove the two screws from the handbrake surround, then remove the surround.

Step 2
Remove the gear nob, the unscrew the two bottom screws, dont worry about all the wiring, it wont be there on you car (its for my neons). Now using the flat head screw driver you will need to pop the two poppy type clips in the foot wells (one on each side) you will know what they are when you look. You can now pull the section slightly away from the dash, if you want to completely remove the section you will need to unplug the wiring that goes to the lighter and money stash (very simple to do).

Step 3
Now pop off the side panel between the dash and the door with the flat head screw driver and remove the two screws.

Step 4
Now pull of the panel under the steering wheel, some models may have a circular retaining clip in the 'sunglasses cubby hole' - just to the right of the ignition it is easier to start from the area where the side panel used to by. When removing *slightly* pull in an upwards directions. I yanked mine of quiet hard and it didnt brake. You will now find two screws holding the top section of the dash in place, one either side of the steering wheel, unscrew these then adjust the steering wheel so its at its lowest setting.

Step 5
From the bottom and sides start pulling the top part of the dash board away, it will be a little stiff but does come off. You will only be able to pull it off so far due to the cables that go into the switchs and clock. Now that the section is lose behind the dash unplug the wires from the switches, they have little push in clips connectors which come of with ease. Once all unclipped remove the top section.

Step 6
Once you have finished what you are doing just follow these steps in reverse.
